Supergirl movie finally secures its spot on the release calendar!
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be released in cinemas on June 26, 2026, as DC and Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday.
Gunn and Safran hired filmmaker Craig Gillespie to direct Supergirl.
Milly Alcock will portray Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El.
The feature film, based on a story by Ana Nogueira, is inspired by the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic and will diverge from the earnest take on the character found in the CW Supergirl series.
According to sources, Supergirl is set to begin production this autumn.
The star-studded cast includes Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Damon Herriman, Tati Gabrielle, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Martyn Ford, with Chin Han, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Todd Garner, James Wan, Simon McQuoid, E. Bennett Walsh and Toby Emmerich will produce the film.
To note along with Supergirl, Warner Bros. announced numerous more dates for some of its highly anticipated films, including New Line's Mortal Kombat 2, which will open in theatres on October 24, 2025.
Simon McQuoid is returning to direct from Jeremy Slater's script based on the videogame produced by Ed Boon and John Tobias.
