Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning has reacted on Piers Morgan's controversial interview with the “real Martha,” Fiona Harvey.
While conversing with the Radio Times, the Pride star expressed her views over the recent interview with, Harvey, who allegedly claimed herself stalker, the real Martha.
Gunning said, “‘Me and Richard have this close connection and I’m very concerned about anything that might upset him.”
She added, ‘He’s a survivor of sexual assault, and he was stalked, and I think that any search for real people almost undermines that slightly.”
The White Heat star continued, “He said in the past that he didn’t want any internet sleuths to go out and try and find the identities of these real people. He deliberately changed identities for a reason. But of course, in this day and age, it’s inevitable, especially with a show this big, that people are intrigued by who the real people are.”
To note, Morgan did the first televised interview with Harvey after Baby Reindeer viewers ‘identified’ her as the inspiration behind Richard Gadd’s hit Netflix series.
Harvey called the series “a work of fiction, a work of hyperbole”, and said, “I wanted to rebut that completely on this show – I am not a stalker, I have not been to jail, I’ve not got injunctions – it is complete nonsense.”
She also mentioned that she is set to take legal action against Netflix and Gadd.
Baby Reindeer, the seven-episode series depicts a “true story” about Gadd and a stalker, with Donny Dodd portrayed by Gadd, and the stalker Martha played by Gunning.
