Lizzo has responded to the South Park joke referencing her on Sunday.
The American rapper was referenced on the special episode, The End of Obesity, of the long-running animated series.
Taking to Instagram on May 26, Lizzo posted a video clip of herself to address the issue.
She began the clip with, “Guys, my worst fear has been actualized. I’ve been referenced in a South Park episode. I’m so scared.”
Lizzo played a clip of the latest episode in which Sharon and Sheila, the moms of Stan and Kyle, were talking about weight loss medications like Ozempic.
Later on in the scene, Sharon told Sheila that she controlled her “cravings to be thinner” with a fake drug called Lizzo.
The narrator of the fake commercial said, “FDA-approved Lizzo makes you feel good about your weight, and it costs 90 percent less than Ozempic. … In case studies, 70 percent of patients on Lizzo no longer cared how much they weighed.”
“Lizzo helps you eat everything you want and keep physical activity to a minimum. … Ask about the power of not giving a (expletive) with Lizzo.”
Once the footage of the show ended, Lizzo appeared on screen and said that she showed the world “how to love yourself.”
She concluded with, “I’m really that (expletive), and I show you how to not give a (expletive) and I’ll keep showing you how to not give a (expletive).”
