Famous horse rider Georgie Campbell passed away at the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon, England after falling off a horse.
British Eventing, who governs the equestrian sport of evening in the country confirmed her death, “It is with deepest regret that we announce that Georgie Campbell (GBR) suffered a fatal accident whilst competing.”
The statement further read, “Medical professionals attended immediately following her fall at fence 5b however, unfortunately, she could not be saved.”
“To respect the family’s privacy at this extremely difficult and sad time, no further details will be shared," Eventing concluded.
After a thorough assessment by veterinarians Georgei’s horse remained unharmed and is safe in the stable.
The equestrian community mourned her untimely demise on social media.
Accounts for fellow rider Pippa Funnell and the Bicton Arena, shared a black image with three emojis on it: a white heart, a purple heart floating above a dove, as an expression of grief.
“Our thoughts are with Georgie’s family and friends at this devastating time,” the caption read.
Georgie Campbell, 37, who died at this young age, was married to event ride Jesse Campbell in December 2020.
