Saturday Night Live (SNL) UK remake has been officially given green light with Sky channel.
On Thursday, April 10, it was confirmed by Deadline, which initially reported the new edition in 2021, that the Comcast-owned network is set to premiere the show in 2026.
SNL is one of the most loved late night show and the UK edition will join a long list of international versions including Germany, South Korea, Italy, and China.
The channel has not revealed much details including cast members, however, the news is expected to bring out the excitement of UK's comedy community.
SNL creator Lorne Michaels will produce the new remake with his Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio's UK production team.
Following the 50th anniversary of US version, which the cast and creators celebrated on February 16, 2025, the UK edition will be produced on the same format of rotating hosts and musical performances.
Notably, as British audience is not known to tune in on late-night shows, fans are keen to find out the airing time for the country as in the US, the show airs at 11:30 pm ET.
