Nature's Track
By Myra
Ahmad
The
wind was here
It
has left its track
Love
was here
It
has dropped its tear
The
sky has cried
So
the rivers flow
Beauty
was here
It
has touched the flowers
And
there is no man
To
diminish it all
The Art
Piece
By Nughza
tul Zehra
I
tell the untold story,
It
lies within me,
With
contrasting colours,
Having
tales painted by my artist,
I
give a relishing sight...
To
the people with flavour
I
owe the art
But
just a canvas, what am I?
Nothing
more than a maker's piece
But
as the night falls
I
hang on the museum wall...
Darkness
is around me...
The
doors are locked
And
I am there ... in solitude 'alas'!
Gods on
Earth
By Amna
Ijaz
Light,
sound, beauty talks
Current
affairs,
Wedding
of the great artist
My
new car,
And
the bridal dress
The
hot issues
And
he was unaware!
(Unaware)
of what was going on
At
a wrong place he stood
Not
knowing what could happen
He
saw,
And
his eyes widened
Steaming
dinner
and
Delicious
cuisines
His
fingers twitched
He
took small-frightened steps
Dared
he not
Take
his eyes off the heaven!
Maybe
his innocent belief made him think
That
the fantasy would end
And
the heaven would shatter;
Like
all his dreams!
He
came forward
(With
his eyes fixed in front of him!)
Sweet
aroma was all he could feel
An
empty belly was all he had
What
could end his hunger (food), was all he saw
But
his world broke apart
The
moment of ecstasy had passed
And
he was on the floor!
This
was not the end,
And
that's what he was sure of
(But
it was too late!)
His
mind couldn't accept
The
reality,
That
he was an intruder,
A
stranger,
And
a thief!
His
eyes still searched for food
(Food)
that they now devoured
But
the scene changed;
And
he saw vultures
Between
the kicks and curses
(He
saw vultures!)
Devouring
ruthlessly
Not
food, but him!
He
screamed and now knew
That
he was at a place
Not
for him
But
A
place for gods
Gods
on earth!
Warrior
of Dignity
By Faizan
Muhammad
With
a will of iron,
And
a heart of steel,
I
set on my path,
Out
to purge and heal,
Adamant
on my goal,
I
face the world,
It's
simple as this
There's
dignity for me to restore,
These
shameless, flawed people,
What
are these creatures?
I
wonder,
Like
a silent preacher,
Humbled
as I may be,
I
move on valiantly,
I
chose a tough path,
But
I honour my loyalty,
Swiftly
moving on,
Through
the dark and the dawn,
The
heavy task I bear,
Throbs
close to my heart...
Flame of
Hope
By Aisha A.
Awan
In
the stark darkness
A
flame of hope is lightened
Since
the winds have been too strong
Hope
has always been proved wrong
The
flame of hope has begun to flicker
Now
once again
Dying
a gradual death each moment
Life
is going to be darker once it has died
But
it's surely again going to light itself up
Even
before the tears have been dried
Quantum
Mechanics
By M. Awais
Aftab
The
world is a theatre
Of
a million dances
Of
atoms and molecules
Of
orbits and orbitals
Of
'like repels like'
In
the balance of forces
So
that in a lovers' sweet kiss
The
lips never meet
And
all that happens
Is
the repulsion of a zillion electrons
Fickle
Hopes
By Salman
Latif
My
lyrics dismantle
On
the work-desk
Against
the clock's tick-tock
The
pen frisking
Across
the bare paper
The
lantern hanging low
And
a ghastly pallor
Pouring
silent gloom
Dissolving
into my mind
The
cracking glass-panes
Under
the times' banes
Sounds
of you
Still
in that air
I,
still there
Upon
that chair
Still
collecting shards
Of
my broken dreams
Still
searching the past
In
the cold...
