Notable Pakistani dramatist and playwright, Haseena Moin has passed away this Friday.  She was 79.

The news has been confirmed by her family this morning. Although the Dhoop Kinaray writer was diagnosed with breast cancer, the reason for her death has not yet been revealed.

Moin's funeral prayers will be held after Asar in Nazimabad area of Karachi's district central.

Haseena was born in Kanpur. After school in 1950s, the famous writer moved to Karachi where she studied Master of Arts in History from Karachi University in 1963.

She wrote Pakistan's first original script Kiran Kahani aired in the early-1970s.

Some of her other blockbuster dramas include Ankahi, Tanhaiyaan', Kiran Kahani, Dhoop Kinaray, Aahat, Uncle Urfi, Shehzori, Kohar, Des Pardes, Pal Do Pal, Aansoo, Kasak, Parchaiyan (1976) and Parosi.
