Junaid Khan wants people to eat ‘light’ during Ramzan

Pakistani actor, Junaid Khan recently appeared in an interview with a publication and shared how he keeps himself in shape during Ramzan.

The Sun Yaara star said, “Ramazan is a good time when you can cut down on fat in your body because the concept of intermittent fasting is very good for losing weight. So the purpose is to keep your body relaxed throughout the day, and then the best time to workout is right before Iftar. Because before Iftar you know how much gas you have and how much energy you can utilize.”

He continued, “If you hit the gym during the day, you will be gassed out and won’t be able to sustain yourself for the rest of the day. So I hit the gym an hour before or an hour and a half after Iftar.”

Khan talked about what he eats during the holy month, he stated, “I am not at all in the favor of overstuffing ourselves. We tend to overstuff ourselves during Sehri and then we sleep right after it, which is very harmful for your stomach. And then after such a long gap, we again overeat during Iftar. So we do more harm to ourselves than good through our eating habits during Ramazan.”

He suggested, “You should eat a minimum quantity of food during Sehri. You can take yoghurt which keeps you hydrated, with that you can take dates or anything else which is light on the stomach and does not bother you when you sleep. Drink lots of water.”

He went on, “In Iftar again, eat light. You can have dates, and even pakoras if you want. I can’t live without pakoras so I eat them as well. After that, you take a gap. You can eat again after probably an hour. Because when we’re very hungry and dehydrated, and we are dehydrated while fasting, we tend to eat a lot. So during Iftar, make sure to drink lots of water first and fill up your stomach. After that, eat your dates and pakoras and take a break.”

The artist concluded, “You can then eat your meal for the day, but that should also be light. This way, our habit of eating a lot as part of our routine will break. At the same time, we will also be saving our stomach the harm that we tend to do to it by constantly eating. You will stay healthy. Our body will still get its nutrients, it doesn’t get nutrients by being overstuffed. If our gut stays healthy, our body will also stay healthy. If our gut isn’t healthy, our body won’t stay healthy regardless of how much food you put inside it.”
