Actress Kangana Ranaut recently slammed Netizens who questioned her role as an influential person amid the pandemic.
Netizens compared the Queen actress to other queens of Bollywood like Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt, which seemingly angered Kangana due to her past differences as she called their work “doing it for the gallery.”
The second wave of the deadly coronavirus has taken over India with a force and has caused pandemonium everywhere. Amidst the lack of hospital beds, oxygens, life-saving machines— the whole country is turning against the government for its lack of preparedness.
In times like this, the Thalaivi actress took to her social media to say that every big country struggled with Covid-19, but no one blamed their governments; hence, Indians shouldn’t either.
This statement triggered Twitter users who called out Kangana for defending the government instead of helping those who need desperate help. One Twitter user compared her to Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt and accused her of not doing anything for her countrymen.
He wrote, "You are just working towards BJP’s image improving work. What does it take to just accept that Govt has failed in this crisis?" (sic)
Kangana clapped back with a harsh response to defend herself and in doing so, she tried to take a jab at celebrities who she thinks are doing everything for show.
"Twitter is not the only way to help people," Kangana claimed. "I am helping people with beds, medicines, vaccines, oxygen... I have too many in my own professional and personal circle who are calling me and asking for help, I am not doing it for the gallery...understood dummy?"
Kangana then went on to say that she’s only helping the verified cases by sending their information to her brother Aksht, who is actively working for this cause. She said: "It’s very important to verify genuinely needy people, most frauds begging for oxygen and beds and selling in black.” (sic)
