Television actress Avika Gor recently expressed her thoughts on 'fairness' and admitted that she does not believe in the concept of fairness being equivalent to beauty.

The actress shared her thoughts with I.A.N.S, “The positioning that beauty creams have created over a period of time is that fairness is equivalent to beauty and success and that it gives us confidence. However, that is not true at all. Our confidence has to come from our work ethic and knowledge.”

She continued, “We as a society cannot idolize one colour and make all the others feel lesser than. There has to be some change in this trend. I'm blessed to be in a position to not have to worry about losing out on money when it's serving the large need of the society of equality. So, I just couldn't do it.”

Up till now Avika has rejected three endorsement offers from beauty cream brands as she does not want to promote the idea that having confidence because of fair skin.

She is well-known for her versatile acting in dramas such as Baliku Vadhu, Sasural Simar Ka and the stunt-based reality show, Khatron ke Khiladi. However her most recent venture into the industry was via a music video Dil ko Mere, released this May on the 17th.
