As
photographer, stylist, head hunter for new fashion models, image consultant
for aspiring heroines and much more, Khawar Riaz is a one man institution
who has single handedly contributed so much to the growth of Pakistan's
fashion industry. He has been nominated as Best Photographer at the
Lux Style Awards again this year, but he isn't hotstepper just because
of that.
Khawar
is hotstepper because he is someone who builds people instead of making
them and then monopolizing their lives and careers. Whether those
people are film inclined girls like Zara Sheikh or Veena Malik, whether
they are fashion inspired young models like Nooray or whether they
are the bevy of male models that have become his forte – Abdullah,
Ameerzeb Khan, Rizwan Ali and many more will bear testament to the
fact that he is sincere.

Khawar is someone
who genuinely feels for his profession and has a passion to build
fashion positively. He has his quirks – can any creative person
be without them? – but the best thing about him, however,
is that Khawar Riaz is exactly what you see up-front.
He speaks as he pleases and 'political correctness' is a word that
doesn't exist in his vocabulary.
He is modest in his victories and gracious in his defeats. For all
this and more, Khawar Riaz is Instep's hotstepper of the week.
