Actor-model Milind Soman's wife Ankita Konwar opened up about society’s tendency to judge everything and every one based on stereotypes. After marrying Milind Soman, who is 26 years older than her, Ankita is vocalizing her disappointment at people judging her based on the stereotype of “don't marry an older man.”

She revealed that she had to face overcritical behaviour from people who “get weird about the unknown.” Ankita added that she has always done what makes her happy and will continue to do so.

In an Ask Me Anything session on Wednesday, Ankita unfolded a conversation on the stereotype when a fan asked her, "How did you tackle/ manage this Indian stereotype of 'don't marry an older man?'"

The 29-year-old responded, "Anything that's not common in a society, people usually like to talk about it. And it's not just limited to India. We as a species, have a tendency to get weird about the unknown, the unexplored AKA fear. A survival skill. And sometimes we are not conscious enough to distinguish between the utility and the waste of that skill. I have always done what makes me happy.”

Ankita replied to a few more questions related to relationship advice and marriage during the session. She and Milind Soman recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
